Academy U-14

Program: The San Jose Earthquakes U14 Academy squad will compete as part of the new United States Soccer Development Academy league. Players selected to this team will play year round for the San Jose Earthquakes. Players selected to this program will not be able to participate in any other programs as this will be a year round development program for players with birthdates in 1999-2000-2001. The players who develop in this program will be considered for the San Jose Earthquakes U16 and U18 academy teams. This program is for the serious soccer player only.

Player Identification Combine (CLICK TO REGISTER): The Earthquakes have three initial dates for player evaluation. Each will be held at Watson Park in San Jose. Dates listed below:
Tuesday, March 19 - 5:30 p.m. check-in, tryouts 6-8 p.m.
Thursday, March 21 - 5:30 p.m. check-in, tryouts 6-8 p.m.
Sunday, March 24 - Final call-back, tryouts 9-11 a.m.
Parents need to register their child online before attending the combine.
We will select anywhere from 20-26 players to participate in the U14 regional academy league program.
Training: Training will take place a minimum of three (3) days per week in San Jose. Sessions will run a minimum of 90 minutes and can be as long as two hours per night.
Fees: Costs to participate on this team will be minimal.
Schedule: The season will be broken up in to three parts. Once the team is selected, we will play through various events and competitions between March of 2013 and July of 2013. August of 2013 will be the official preseason for this team.
League play opens in September of 2013 and runs through December. The team will take four (4) weeks off to rest in December resuming with a Futsal league in January. Futsal will run January and February of 2014.
There will also be a spring league from March to June of 2014. There will be one national event for the players to attend sometime in June to compete against all other teams in the U14 USSDA league from across the country.
Teams in the new league: San Jose Earthquakes, De Anza Force, Santa Cruz Breakers, California Odyssey and San Juan SC. There will be 5-7 clubs added to this initial mix from the Northern California region to be announced soon.
