Last night, history was made yet again for the USMNT. It was another #DosACero type of night at Crew Stadium in Columbus. With their victory over Mexico and the Honduras-Panama draw, the USMNT's dreams of earning a berth to their seventh straight World Cup were fulfilled.
Right in the middle of it all was Quakes defender Clarence Goodson. After being called in on just Saturday by head man Klinsmann, Goodson put in a solid 90 minutes for the national team squad - anchoring the defense well and causing havoc in US set pieces.
Nothing but praise for the Quakes man from the critics, either. Check out the most recent player ratings here.
Just a few days ago, Clarence Goodson was called in by USMNT head man Jurgen Klinsmann to join the squad ahead of tonight's crucial World Cup Qualifier against Mexico.
Goodson, who most recently featured for the Red, White and Blue during the CONCACAF Gold Cup, is a veteran to USMNT World Cup squad. Having been on the 2010 World Cup roster, Goodson is no stranger to playing a key role for the USMNT's backline. He has earned 42 caps and three goals for the national team.
Tonight, the USMNT could clinch a spot to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. A victory against Mexico, and a Honduras tie or win against Panama, and the USMNT will be on their way to their seventh straight World Cup.
You can watch all the #USAvMEX action on ESPN, WatchESPN and Unimas. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT. If you can't watch live, follow @ussoccer on Twitter for live updates throughout the match.

June's dramatic California Clasico still leaves a sweet taste in our mouth, and we hope it gets even sweeter this weekend.
Just like MLSsoccer.com's Anatomy of a Goal, we thought we'd break down Alan Gordon's stoppage time game-winner... in GIF form - cause it's Friday, right?
1. It all started with this. It's okay to laugh. Marvin is.
2. Turns out giggles do lead to goals. That's fun:
3. Buschy celebrates.
4. Icing on the cake.

Every wondered what the bash brothers do when they're not on the soccer field?
We'll give you a hint:
The famed Quakes duo, Alan Gordon and Steven Lenhart, will be featured on NBC Sports Network's weekly show, MLS Insider, tonight. The hour-long special will highlight the Bash Brothers' play on and, mainly, off the pitch.
We're not one to give any spoilers... but we're pretty sure the man in the gorilla suit will make an appearance too. Tune in or set your DVRs to NBC Sports Network at 4:30 p.m. PT tonight.
We know what you're thinking. How do I get my hands on one of these perfect house pets? I mean, it's pottery based on a professional soccer player that grows. And, you can style it any way you want!
Come on, people. There really isn't anything better (unless it twerked like the real Lenny... way better than Miley may we add).
The Steven Lenhart Chia Pet is available for one time only at the Lenhart Chia Pet Night on September 8 presented by Cosmopolitan Catering. 2,500 fans who come to watch the Quakes face the Philadelphia Union at Buck Shaw Stadium will take home one of these bad boys.

During this week in 2004, the Quakes beat the then Dallas Burn 3-0 at Spartan Stadium. Ramiro Corrales tallied the first goal of the match, pulling off a brilliant finish from Landon Donovan's assist. A Dallas own goal and a second half strike from Brian Ching, also assisted by Landon Donovan, sealed the deal for the home side.
To make the night even more memorable, the Quakes wore a throwback red kit in honor of the club's 30th anniversary.
Is this technically a throwback of a throwback? Regardless, it's Friday and history likes to repeat itself.
Ah, just another day in the life of the Steven Lenhart Chia Pet.
