U.S. Soccer invited 64 elite players from across the country to participate in the National Combine, designed to build the U-18 Men's National Team pool.
Two current Earthquakes academy players were in the mix, including goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski from Alamo, Calif. and forward Amir Bashti from Cupertino, Calif. Marcinkowski, the Quakes U-16 Academy keeper, recently competed with the squad abroad in the Caspian Cup. Bashti, a midfielder also on the Quakes' U-16 Academy team, has been ranked nationally by Topdrawersoccer.com and led the team to the playoffs earlier this Summer.
The two will travel to Portland for this year's National Combine at Nike's World Headquarters. This five day camp, running from Aug. 9-13, brings the country's elite 15 to 17 year old players together. The combine is an opportunity for the nation's top palyers to be evaluated by National Team staff and scouts from across the country.

Wondo's been a busy guy lately, but that didn't keep him from stop by the Raiders' training camp in Napa on Sunday.
He even got to hang out with kicker Sebastian Janikowski after training.

Many know the likes of GoPro, National Tire Warehouse and DZH Phillips as competitive corporations and leaders of their industries. But did you know these teams can bring it on the field?
On Saturday, we hosted our annual Corporate Cup with over 26 teams competing in three divisions: Men's Corporate, Co-ed and Men's Open.
Here's a breakdown of the results:
The top 8 teams that qualified for the playoffs were National Tire Warehouse, Nvidia, Fox Racing, Infineon, Box, GoPro, Workday and eBay. National Tire Warehouse and Nvidia battled it out in a heated final, but NTW won 4-3. National Tire Warehouse's Bradley Mitchell took home the Golden Boot for the division.
The top 4 teams that qualified for the playoffs were DZH Phillips, People's Associates, eBay and Chegg. DZH Phillips defeates Peoples Associates in the final, and the Golden Boot winner was Parshan Rayatkah from DZH Phillips.
It was a really close final between DV8 Elite and Harmonie, but DV8 Elite edged over their competition 5-4 to claim the title. Ramiro Ceja from the 3rd place finishers, Fight the Flop, took home the Golden Boot award in the division.
Thanks to all who made this year's Corporate Cup a success! All of the proceeds from the tournament went to the Quakes' Kicks for Kids program that allows for thousands of under privileged youth to be brought out to various Quakes matches.
A big congratulations is in order to Wondo, Goodson, Gordon and the USMNT for winning the 2013 Gold Cup and extending their undefeated streak to 11 matches.
Wondo, who notched 5 goals in the tournament, shares the Golden Boot award with fellow teammate Landon Donovan and the Panamanian striker Gabrial Torres.
It may not be the only Golden Boot Wondo has seen, but it's his first in the red, white and blue.
We couldn't be more proud of our humble Wondow:

Four Earthquakes represented their country on Wednesday, battling for a spot in the Gold Cup final.
Wondo, Goodson, Gordon and the USMNT came out on top over Chavez and his Honduran side. Goodson's well-placed ball to set up Bedoya's assist for Donovan's first goal of the match, helping the U.S. side double their lead. However, Chavez came back and did what he does best for the Quakes, notching an assist for Los Catrachos' lone tally of the match.
The USMNT head to Chicago for the Gold Cup final on Sunday against Panama. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. PT, and the final will be aired live on Fox and Univision.
