Middle names revealed: Alan Gordon, Chris Wondolowski named to the Gold Cup preliminary USMNT roster
Quakes forwards, Alan Gordon and Chris Wondolowski, were named to the preliminary 35-man USMNT roster for the upcoming Gold Cup. CONCACAF revealed all twelve teams' preliminary rosters on Friday, with each roster to be trimmed down to a final 23-man version by June 27. The opening match for the Gold Cup is set for July 8.
The USMNT roster is very MLS-heavy at the moment, with players representing from the Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City, Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders, LA Galaxy, D.C. United, Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union.
Another great thing about the roster reveal? Middle names.
Another #USMNT naming revelation: He's not just Alan Gordon. He's Alan Eugene Gordon II. Greatness was preordained. We should have known.
