On August 16 the Quakes will host FC Dallas at 7:30 p.m. PT. There will be a limited amount of Save for Seals signed shirts by keeper Jon Busch for $40. Busch has pledged to donate $50 for every save during the 2014 to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the San Jose Earthquakes Community Fund has pledged to match that donation.
The 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, August 6 at 6 p.m. PT at Providence Park, Portland, Oregon. This match marks the first time the MLS All-Stars will take on a club from the German Bundesliga. Bayern won the Bundesliga last year, now with 24 titles, and also made it to the 2014 UEFA Champions League semifinals.
This is the eleventh time the MLS All-Stars have faced an international competiton for the All-Star Game, with the last three years being against AS Roma, Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC. The All-Stars currently have a record of 7-3-1.
This match will be live on ESPN2, UniMas and TSN/RDS.
Tommy Thompson and the rest of the MLS Homegrown team will face the U23 Portland Timbers at 7 p.m. PT at Providence Park in Portland ahead of the MLS All-Star Game. The Homegrown Team consists of the best Homegrown players across the league, and it was fitting that the Quakes' first-ever Homegrown player was selected for the roster. Thompson was called up to the U-20 Men's National Team. Don't miss Thompson play in the first-ever Homegrown match! Fans can watch the match live on mlssoccer.com.
We all can't wait until we get to make history and open up Levi's Stadium on Saturday when we host the Seattle Sounders.
The guys got a little taste of what to expect of the world-class facility ahead of the big day.
Can #LevisSelfies be a thing?

On Tuesday, the Quakes teamed up with Chipotle and held two Homegrown clinics at Watson Field in San Jose. The clinic coaches included Quakes' players Brandon Barklage, Mike Fucito, Khari Stephenson, Cordell Cato, Shea Salinas, Sam Cronin and Billy Schuler. Three Academy coaches were alongside the Quakes players, with Academy Technical Director Chris Leitch being the head coach of the clinic.
Stations held different drills including dribbling, shooting and 2v2. Afterwards, the kids were in for a special treat - all received a free Chipotle soccer ball, dinner buffet and autographs with the players.
Big thanks to Chipotle for helping make this all happen!
Fans are invited to meet star player Alan Gordon just two days before the Quakes open up Levi's® Stadium to face Seattle Sounders FC. Come meet him on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Wells Fargo in Willow Glen.
Competitive and well-known corporations like eBay, Google, and GoPro can compete on the field too!
On Saturday, we hosted our annual Corporate Cup with 32 teams in two divisions: Men's Corporate and Co-Ed.
Here are the results from the tournament:
Last year's champion National Tire Warehouse faced up against Driscoll's in the final for the Men's Corporate division. After an intense extratime, the game was still knotted at 3-3, resulting in a best-of-three penalty kick shootout. Driscoll's ended up victorious in the shootout, winning 2-0. Andrew Goldberg from team Jumio won the Golden Boot.
In the Co-Ed division, PetersenDean beat Peoples Associates 4-1 to win the championship. Ramon Farinazo from the winning team received the Golden Boot award.
Thanks to everyone that was a part of this successful tournament! Over $50,000 was raised for the Eathquakes Community Fund. And a big thanks to Cosmo Catering who provided all the food and drinks for the day.
