earth·quake
[urth-kweyk]
–noun
1. a series of vibrations induced in the earth's crust by the abrupt rupture and rebound of rocks in which elastic strain has been slowly accumulating.
2. something that is severely disruptive; upheaval.
3. an event or action that elicits the response, "Did you feel that?"

The San Jose Earthquakes adopted a fresh advertising campaign for 2010 centered around the slogan, "Did you feel that?" Appearing in a pair of television commercials as well as billboards, buses, bus stops and fault lines across the Northern California, our catch phrase has become synonymous with Earthquakes culture the same way "getting hyphy" married itself to the Bay Area.

Tweeters have caught onto the craze with witty remarks sent to the hashtag #didufeelthat. (i.e. Joe Cannon just collided with "Q" and knocked the poor guy out. Did you feel that?") Our mantra goes deeper than the Twittersphere, finding its way into everyday conversation in office buildings, bars and supermarkets. More and more, fans feel compelled to show their "Did you feel that?" face.

The next time you knock over a glass of milk, bump shoulders with a person on the street or walk through the gates of Buck Shaw Stadium, stop and ask, "Did you feel that?"
