The Earthquakes dropped a 3-2 result to Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center Saturday night. Chris Wondolowski tallied in the first half to draw the sides level. Steven Beitashour pulled one back in stoppage time with the Quakes trailing 3-1, the rookie's first career MLS goal. The Quakes will return to action on May 1 at Buck Shaw Stadium against the Colorado Rapids.

EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP
On the result:
“Obviously we are disappointed to lose the match, but I think the better team on the night won. We just need to make sure we are battling back and getting ready for our next game.”

On fighting back for a second goal late:
“I think that if we were able to just keep it a one goal deficit, we have got a chance. Down 3-1 is tough, but we did fight back and get a second goal, which is positive, but overall, it was a tough night and we need to move forward.”

EARTHQUAKES DEFENDER STEVEN BEITASHOUR
On the team’s fight:
“We didn’t give up, but we conceded that third goal. We were close when it was 2-1, had a couple of good chances, but unfortunately in going forward, the ball slipped through and they finished a third goal. That put it out of reach (in the 87th minute) but we pulled one back and didn’t quit, but it is still disappointing.”

On first career goal:
“Coach just sent everyone up in the 90th minute, and told me to sit at the edge of the box in case anything popped out. The guys did a great job in there fighting and battling for a header, and it came out to me, I put a foot on it and it went in. Unfortunately, I am more disappointed right now with the result than I am with any individual achievement.”

EARTHQUAKES GOALKEEPER JOE CANNON
On the game:
“We are very disappointed with not getting any points tonight and I think all of us are aware tactically with what went wrong tonight. We let them have too much possession and give them credit, they played a great game. It was an off night for us, but I don’t think any of the guys are overly down.”

On missing Andre Luiz in midfield:
“I feel like I am pretty confident in our guys to come in and do their jobs. I think all of the players in our group are good enough to come in and play. Against Chivas its very difficult because they have a lot of possession and its on a big field. We asked a lot of our midfield tonight to do a lot of chasing, but I don’t think that this was the reason for the result.”
