San Jose look to get back on track in first game back from World Cup break

The Major League Soccer season resumes after the World Cup break at the home of the defending MLS champions, where Real Salt Lake take on the San Jose Earthquakes in a key Western Conference tilt.

Prior to the layoff, Real Salt Lake extended their undefeated streak to seven games, knocking the Los Angeles Galaxy from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 1-0 victory June 9 at Rio Tinto Stadium. Real are in second place in the Western Conference with 23 points from 11 games, nine points behind the Galaxy.

The San Jose Earthquakes lost for the second time in three games before the break, falling 2-0 to FC Dallas on June 5 at Pizza Hut Park. The Quakes are in fourth place in the Western Conference with 17 points from 11 games.
