Bernardez, Honduras players speak out against violence

Ahead of the World Cup, Muma speaks out: "All I can be is grateful."

Earthquakes and Honduras defender Victor Bernardez - along with other members of the Honduras national team - spoke with the Washington Post about the violence in their home country

With preparations looming for Brazil, they didn't sit down to talk about soccer, but they paused to speak out against the brutality in one of the most dangerous countries in the world.

In the article, Muma spoke of his past -  growing up in Honduras though the youth soccer ranks, and ultimately having to make a choice between soccer and living a life of crime. He mentions his childhood friends who chose the wrong path, and on the eve of his second World Cup, he remembers why he chose his path to follow his dreams: his family and soccer.

If you haven't given this article a read, do it now. You won't regret learning about this new side of our beloved Muma.
