MLS Power Rankings: Week 30

With the playoffs finally looming, there's little change atop Mt. Power Rankings. The Rocky Mountain champs are still tops here too, despite nearly falling flat in Colorado. The Sounders and FC Dallas, meanwhile, took some lumps before the final whistle blew on the season, while New York drop in at No. 3.

Being favored in the playoffs is something new for this organization, but we can't help but think they're salivating at a cold-weather MLS Cup final.

Arena's boys needed that lift from last-day win over FCD. They may do just enough to win. But that's all they'll need in postseason.

(18-7-5, 59 pts.) Last: Beat DAL, 2-1 [WATCH] Next: Sunday at SEA

Think cozy Buck Shaw Stadium will remind Thierry Henry and Rafa Márquez of an early-round Copa del Rey road game?

There are two ways Colorado can go after such a jaw-dropping collapse against RSL. Will it be persistence or panic?

Day late and a dollar short for Birahim Diop. Still, we give Peter Vermes a thumbs-up for helping to change culture in KC and build for the future.

If Carlos de los Cobos sticks around, expect a completely different team at Bridgeview next year.
