10 From 10: I Love New York

10from10 I Love New York

The most entertaining MLS game in 2010 was San Jose's 3-1 upset of the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference Semifinal.

Drama, suspense, a feel-good moment - they were all present at Red Bull Arena that night.

New York carried home a 1-0 cushion after the first leg in San Jose. The Red Bulls allowed multiple goals within the friendly confines of RBA once during 2010 and justifiably felt destined for a trip to the Eastern Conference Championship.

The Blue Collar Boys didn't wait long to deliver an equalizer. Bobby Convey 6th-minute goal silenced the partisan crowd and showed New York that the Quakes weren't going away without a fight.

Convey struck again in the 76th minute, lacing a riser over the outstretched arms of Bouna Coundoul, but Juan Pablo Ángel answered back in the 78th.

In the end, it was San Jose's homegrown hero who settled the score. Convey lifted a perfect placed cross into the area that Chris Wondolowski headed into the net for the triumphant moment.

Throughout 2010, the Quakes showed a resiliency that is synonymous with success. From Wondo to Convey to John Doyle and Frank Yallop, the San Jose Earthquakes constantly proved doubters wrong.
