SAN JOSE, Calif. — San Jose Earthquakes Academy goalkeeper Jesus Guzman was among 36 players called to the US Under-18 camp to be held in Phoenix, Ariz. from Feb. 12 through Feb. 20.
Guzman, a standout keeper for the Quakes U-18s, is one of three goalkeepers in camp. The additional keepers include Jeff Gal of Sockers FC and Andrew Wolverton of Concorde Fire.
Of the 36 in camp, 26 are current participants of the US Developmental Academy program and four are Academy alumni. It will be the first camp of 2011 for the U-18s, headed by coach Mike Matkovich.
The Quakes Academy will see its first action of 2011 on Saturday, March 5 against Arsenal FC in Temecula, Calif. Click to see the full U-18 schedule.
