“We are excited to get the 2011 campaign underway,” said Earthquakes President David Kaval. “We have high hopes for this season and can’t wait for another opportunity to play Real Salt Lake at Buck Shaw Stadium on Opening Day.”
The Quakes open 2011 on Saturday, March 19 against RSL at 7:30 p.m. San Jose plays four of its first six matches at home to start the season, including matches against Seattle Sounders FC (April 2, 7:30 p.m.), Toronto FC (April 9, 7:30 p.m.) and Chivas USA (April 23, 1 p.m.) at Buck Shaw Stadium.
Other matches of intrigue include the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, June 4, which will be aired live on Galavision. Southern California rivals the Los Angeles Galaxy visit on Saturday, June 25. Additionally, Thierry Henry, Rafael Márquez and the New York Red Bulls will head to the Bay Area for a Fourth of July weekend match on Saturday, July 2 that will be televised live on ESPN2.
