LONDON — The San Jose Earthquakes will send their first team out to face Birmingham City's reserves on Tuesday at 1 p.m. local time. The match will be played at the Blues' training facility.

Other matches on the horizon this week include a reserve game on Wednesday at Spurs Lodge and a trip to Leicester City on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Quakes continued to train at Spurs Lodge Monday morning. Fans awaiting David Beckham's arrival lined the street outside Tottenham Hotspur's grounds.

Training was brief with a series of full-field scrimmages dominating the session. San Jose's first team played for 40 minutes before a combination of reserves, trialists and fill-ins from the Spurs U-18s wrapped things up. Joey Gjertsen scored the lone goal, a well-placed shot from the left side of the box that bent into the corner past a diving David Bingham.

Trialists have joined San Jose's camp from the Netherlands, Ireland, Ghana and England. Additionally, Tottenham Hotspur has provided a pair of potential acquisitions to the mix. Rounding out the list of trialists are two Americans, Ellis McLoughlin - previously a striker with Hertha BSC's second team - and Matt Luzunaris - a former SK Rapid Wien reservist.
