The San Jose Earthquakes look to stretch their unbeaten streak to five games when they host the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, June 4 at Buck Shaw Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PT. Saturday is Hawaiian Night and 5,000 fans will receive an Earthquakes Hawaiian-themed bag tag, presented by Alaska Airlines. The match will be aired live on Comcast SportsNet California, Galavision, 1220 KDOW (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

The San Jose Earthquakes are now unbeaten in their past four matches following a 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park. Earthquakes midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong came on as a sub at halftime and sparked the Quakes attack with two assists. Ramiro Corrales and Chris Wondolowksi scored the goals for San Jose, while Dominic Oduro and Cory Gibbs found the net for the Fire. Ampaipitakwong set up the Quakes first goal in the 49th minute with a perfect service on a corner kick that found Corrales in the box and he headed it into the far post for the 1-0 lead. After Oduro tied the score, Ampaipitakwong helped San Jose regain the lead. Corrales drew two defenders and dropped a ball for Ampaipitakwong, who chipped a cross to Wondolowski in the box. Wondolowski, who joins the U.S. National Team for training camp Sunday in preparation for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, flicked a header past Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson for a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute. Gibbs brought the Fire level again six minutes later with a header of his own to prevent San Jose from winning its third straight.

The San Jose Earthquakes dropped a 1-0 decision to the Houston Dynamo at Buck Shaw Stadium. Andrew Hainault scored the game’s only goal off a pass from Brad Davis in the 23rd minute and Houston shut down the Quakes attack to earn the road victory.

Misc. Notes

Unbeaten Streak at Four
The San Jose Earthquakes are now unbeaten in four straight games following a 2-2 road draw against the Chicago Fire on May 28. The Quakes streak started on May 11 with a 1-1 tie against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Quakes then defeated the Columbus Crew 3-0 and the New England Revolution 2-1 before recording the tie in Chicago. The Quakes last had an unbeaten streak of four games from Sept. 5 to Sept. 25 last season. San Jose also finished the month of May unbeaten at 2-0-2. The last unbeaten month for San Jose was in September of 2009 when the team posted a 1-0-2 record in three league matches.

1994 World Cup Reunion July 2 at Stanford Stadium
The San Jose Earthquakes announced last week that they will host a reunion for the players of the 1994 United States World Cup team around their game against the New York Red Bulls on July 2 at Stanford Stadium. The players will attend a pregame meet and greet with select fans before being honored on the field at halftime of the Quakes match at the same stadium where the U.S. faced Brazil in the second round of the FIFA World Cup on July 4, 1994. Players currently scheduled to attend the match are Tab Ramos, Thomas Dooley, Marcelo Balboa, Paul Caligiuri, Fernando Clavijo, Mike Sorber, Juergen Sommer and Cobi Jones. More members of the squad may be confirmed in the coming weeks. Any fan that attended the 1994 U.S. game against Brazil will receive complimentary ticket to the Quakes-Red Bulls game on July 2. Each fan will have to present a ticket stub or proof of attendance at the match in order to redeem a complimentary ticket. Fans can redeem the tickets at the Earthquakes Front Office at 451 El Camino Real, Suite 220 in Santa Clara or at the box office on game day.

Second Half Success
After scoring just one goal in the second half in the first eight games of the season, the Quakes have become a second half team during the past three matches. The Quakes have combined for seven second-half goals in their last three outings, each of which entered the half at 0-0. Against the Columbus Crew on May 14, San Jose scored three goals to win 3-0 and then followed that effort with a two-goal second half to beat the New England Revolution 2-1 on May 21. Against the Chicago Fire on May 28, San Jose scored two second half goals to pick up a 2-2 tie.

Ampaipitakwong Notches First Career Assists
Quakes rookie midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong entered the game at halftime on May 28 against the Chicago Fire and had a big impact. He notched the first two assists of his young career, setting up Ramiro Corrales and Chris Wondolowski to help San Jose earn a 2-2 tie on the road.

Wondolowski Near the Top
2010 Budweiser MLS Golden Boot winner Chris Wondolowski finds himself back among the league leaders in goals scored in 2011. After scoring against the Chicago Fire on May 28, Wondolowski now has six goals, tying him for second in MLS. He trails only Landon Donovan, who has eight goals, three of which have been penalty kick goals.

Wondo on a Run
Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski has now notched a goal or an assist in four straight games following his goal on May 28 against the Chicago Fire. He started the streak with goals against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on May 11 and the Columbus Crew on May 14. He then had an assist on May 21 against the New England Revolution.

Corrales Goal and Assist
Ramiro Corrales started his first game at left midfield in 2011 against the Chicago Fire on May 28 and had a big night. He scored a goal and recorded an assist to help San Jose pick up a 2-2 road draw. The assist was the 23rd of his San Jose career, tying him for eighth all-time in team history with Brian Mullan (2003-05).

Wondolowski Ties De Rosario for Fourth Place All Time on the Quakes’ Scoring Charts
San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski scored his sixth goal of the season on May 28 against the Chicago Fire. With the goal, he tied Dwayne De Rosario for third place all-time in Quakes team history in all-time goals with 27. He is five goals behind Landon Donovan for second place. The career leader for the Quakes is Ronald Cerritos, who notched 61 from 1997-2001 and in 2005. 

Busch the Shot Stopper
Eleven games into the season, Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch is No. 3 in the league in saves with 37. Toronto FC’s Stefan Frei leads the pack with 49 saves in 13 matches while Seattle Sounders FC’s Kasey Keller is next on the list with 41 saves in 14 matches.

Wondolowski Named to U.S. National Team for CONCACAF Gold Cup
San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski reported to US National Team camp in Cary, N.C. on Sunday ahead of a friendly against Spain on June 4 and the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The United States plays Spain in a friendly match prior to the start of the Gold Cup on Saturday, June 4 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Following that friendly, the U.S. will begin play in Group C on Tuesday, June 7 with a match against Canada at Ford Field in Detroit. The Americans then face Panama on June 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., before concluding group play on June 14 against Guadeloupe at Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan. The quarterfinals begin on June 18 with the semifinal matches scheduled for June 22. The Gold Cup final will be played Saturday, June 25 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Wondolowski has been called up once before to represent his country. He spent the month of January earlier this year in Southern California at a training camp at The Home Depot Center. He started and played 60 minutes for the U.S. against Chile at The Home Depot Center on Jan. 22 to earn his first cap.

Johnson Named to Jamaican National Team for CONCACAF Gold Cup
Ryan Johnson was named to the roster for the Jamaican National Team for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament to be held in the United States. Johnson has joined the Jamaican team for a training camp in Brazil that will run from May 23-June 2. Jamaica has been drawn into Group B along with Grenada, Guatemala, and Honduras. Jamaica will open up their 2011 Gold Cup campaign against Grenada on Monday, June 6 at the Home Depot Center. The ‘Reggae Boyz’ will take on Guatemala on June 10 at FIU Stadium in Miami, before closing up group stage play against Honduras on June 13 at Red Bull Arena. Jamaica qualified for the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup in both 2003 and 2005. Their best finish was third place in the 1993 tournament. Johnson has currently amassed 12 appearances for the Jamaican national team, scoring three goals, with his debut for the team coming in a friendly against the United States in 2006. All three of Johnson’s international goals came in 2010 against Argentina, Costa Rica, and Guadeloupe. He also helped Jamaica win the 2010 Digicel Cup in December.

Quakes to Host West Bromwich Albion of English Premier League on July 12
The San Jose Earthquakes will host West Bromwich Albion from the English Premier League (EPL) on Tuesday, July 12 at Buck Shaw Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PT. Individual tickets are on sale at SJEarthquakes.com and by calling (800) 225-2277. Season ticket holders should use their Bonus Game “B” ticket for the match. Prices for individual seats range from $20 to $50. 
West Brom is laden with internationals from around the globe Scott Carson (England), Marek Čech (Slovakia), Somen Tchoyi (Cameroon), Pablo Ibáñez (Spain), James Morrison (Scotland), Steven Reid (Republic of Ireland), Abdoulaye Méïté (Ivory Coast), Gabriel Tamaş (Romania), , Gonzalo Jara (Chile) and Dean Kiely (Republic of Ireland). Ibáñez was a starter for Spain alongside Carlos Puyol at center back during the 2006 World Cup.

Busch Among MLS Career Leaders List for Shutouts
Jon Busch is No. 8 on the MLS career shutouts list with 55. The Earthquakes’ starting goalkeeper has recorded nine clean sheets in San Jose. He earned 21 shutouts during three seasons (2007-09) with the Chicago Fire and had 25 in five seasons with the Columbus Crew (2002-06). Next on the list is New England Revolution keeper Matt Reis with 61.

History of the Quakes – Houston Dynamo Rivalry
The Earthquakes own a 3-2-1 all-time record against the Houston Dynamo … The first meeting between the two clubs came on May 22, 2008 when the Earthquakes defeated the Dynamo 2-1 at Buck Shaw Stadium on the strength of goals by Kei Kamara and Ivan Guerrero … On September 15, 2008, the Earthquakes and Dynamo battled to the lone tie in the all-time season series between the two clubs, a 1-1 draw at Buck Shaw Stadium … Later that season the Dynamo would return the favor, handing the Earthquakes a 2-1 loss on October 15 at Robertson Stadium … In 2009, the Earthquakes and Dynamo would split the regular season series, with the Earthquakes winning 3-2 at Buck Shaw Stadium on March 28, and the Dynamo earning a 3-1 victory on May 23 at Robertson Stadium … With a 2-1 victory over Houston at Robertson Stadium on September 5 this season, San Jose became the first of the two clubs to record a win on the road … Earthquakes midfielder Khari Stephenson and forward Geovanni each scored the first goals of their MLS careers in San Jose’s 2-1 win on September 5.

Earthquakes-LA Galaxy Match Time for June 25 Changed to 3:30 p.m. PT
The San Jose Earthquakes have announced that the game time for their June 25 match against the LA Galaxy at Buck Shaw Stadium has been changed to 3:30 p.m. PT on FOX Soccer. Additionally, individual tickets for that game are now on sale. In 2010, Chris Wondolowski stunned a league-leading LA Galaxy squad with a fourth minute goal that would stand up for a 1-0 win. The Earthquakes drew a record crowd of 10,799 at Buck Shaw Stadium for the day game on Aug. 21. San Jose is 3-3-2 against LA Galaxy since returning to MLS in 2008 and holds a 9-7 scoring advantage over that stretch.

July 2 Match vs. New York Red Bulls to be Played at Stanford Stadium
The San Jose Earthquakes have moved their Saturday, July 2 match against international stars Thierry Henry and Rafa Márquez and the New York Red Bulls to Stanford Stadium in Stanford, Calif. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT and air live on ESPN2. Following the match, the Earthquakes will treat fans to the best fireworks show on the Peninsula for the Fourth of July weekend. Fans can stay in their seats or move onto the field for the best view to watch the fireworks. The Epicenter Fan Zone will be moved from Buck Shaw Stadium to Stanford for the match. Fans will be able to enjoy foosball, corn hole, face painting and poster making prior to kickoff. Gourmet food trucks will also be on site.
