The United States U-17 team started off their World Cup campaign with a dream 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic at Estadio Torreón in Mexico on Sunday afternoon.
Alejandro Guido opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a left-footed blast from 25 yards. Highly touted goalkeeper Lukas Zima had no chance to stop the Californian's impressive effort.
The European side rode Patrik Svoboda back into the match as the midfielder created a few chances, but they failed to capitalize and found themselves down by a goal at the break.
The deficit would double soon after the break as Paul Arriola dribbled toward the right touchline before dishing to Esteban Rodriguez. The speedy winger didn't miss from in tight, making it 2-0 US.
Alfred Koroma finished off the scoring just two minute after joining the match for Mario Rodriguez.
The Americans face Uzbekistan, 4-1 losers to New Zealand in their opening match, on June 22 and close out group play three days later against the Oceania side.
