4v4 Tournament in San Jose presented by Wells Fargo 11

The San Jose Earthquakes have partnered with Wells Fargo to run three adult and youth soccer tournaments over the course of the summer. The first 4v4 Tournament kicked off on Saturday, July 23 at Independence High School in San Jose with nearly 500 participants competing in front of over 1,000 fans.

There were 67 teams spread out over 10 different divisions and many of the Earthquakes’ sponsors were on site, including tournament co-host Wells Fargo, Xfinity, Latinas Contra Cancer, Amway, and Alert SCC. Earthquakes defender and San Jose native Steven Beitashour also came out to the event to sign autographs for participants and fans.


All of the teams put in great efforts, but only one team per division could be victorious. Winners included:

Men’s Rec: – Concord F.C.
Boys U17-19 – Lobitos
Boys U16 – Wells Fargo Junior Agents
Boys U14 – Chelsea Black
Boys U11 – Liverpool
Boys U10 – De Anza Force 00B Barcelona
Boys U9 – Chelsea
Boys U8 – Chelsea
Girls U11 – Panthers


Prizes were awarded to the first and second place teams in all divisions. All participants received an Earthquakes ticket, event t-shirt, and sponsor gifts.


Two more 4v4 tournaments remain this year. The next will take place on Aug. 28 at Cesar Chavez Academy in East Palo Alto, and the last tournament will be on Sept. 18 at Alden Oliver Sports Park in Hayward. The divisions for each tournament include boys and girls U-8 through U-19, Men’s and Women’s Rec, Adult CoEd, and Men’s Open.
