• All-time leading scorer Conor Casey tore his left Achilles tendon on July 16. He underwent surgery on July 20 and returned to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to begin the first phase of his 6-8 month recovery process.
• The Rapids are tied with the Philadelphia Union for the highest number of different players to score for any MLS club in the 2011 season with 14.
• The availability of forwards Omar Cunnings and Sanna Nyassi is in question for this week’s match after both players were called in by their respective national teams, Jamaica and Gambia, for midweek friendlies on the other side of the world. On Wednesday, Cummings and the Reggae Boyz lost to China 1-0 in Heifi, China while Nyassi’s Gambian squad topped the Democratic Republic of Congo 3-0 in Banjul, Gambia.
