Kaval's Kickoff: 'Let's make history together'

Kaval's Kickoff New Image

I want to thank all the Quakes fans who have personally emailed or called me over the past weeks concerning the stadium appeal hearing. It’s great to have such a passionate and knowledgeable fan base ready to support the club in our efforts to obtain our Planned Development (PD) permit from the City of San Jose.

I want to encourage everyone who is a stakeholder and would like to see the Quakes have a permanent home here in San Jose to attend the meeting. The meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall in the council chambers. The agenda has been published (click here).

It’s important for fans to arrive by 6:30 p.m., especially if you would like to make a public comment as you will need to register. There are several other items on the agenda that will go before us.

This is a critical meeting to keep the process moving forward so we can get the stadium built. Demonstrating our collective energy around the stadium project and its many economic and quality of life benefits is essential. A large showing will certainly do that.

This is the time we need Quakes Country to rally and represent as we fill the council chambers. I know I can count on our loyal supporters to be there and present themselves in a professional and courteous manner while also showing their passion.

As a reminder, my office doors are open to any and all fans who would like to drop by today (Tuesday) between 3 and 5 p.m. If you have any questions related to the stadium or the club, feel free to stop by my office and chat about them.

It has been a long and winding road to establish a permanent home for the Quakes here in San Jose. There have been many starts and stops dating back a generation. This meeting is an opportunity for our fans to have their voices heard and an opportunity for the greater community to know the impact that our club has on the quality of life here in the Silicon Valley.

Please join me in making the most of our opportunity by attending the meeting on Wednesday. Let's make history together.

GO QUAKES!
