Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 19, his second time winning the honor in 2012. Earthquakes Remain Undefeated at Buck Shaw Stadium
The Earthquakes are 5-0-2 at Buck Shaw Stadium this season and 6-1-2 when playing in the Bay Area. The Earthquakes played their first match at Buck Shaw Stadium since May 19 on Saturday against Real Salt Lake, winning 5-0 thanks in large part to a hat trick by Chris Wondolowski. San Jose has also played MLS matches at AT&T Park (1-0 loss vs. Houston on March 17) and Stanford Stadium (4-3 win vs. LA Galaxy on June 30).

Prolific Scoring
Saturday’s 5-0 win against Real Salt Lake marked the first time in club history that the Earthquakes have scored five goals in a single game twice in the same season. The first came on May 2 in a 5-3 win against D.C. United. San Jose has scored 41 goals this season, 14 shy of the club record set in 1997 with 14 games remaining.

Hat Trick Hero
Chris Wondolowski netted his third career hat trick in Saturday’s 5-0 win against Real Salt Lake at Buck Shaw Stadium. His previous two came toward the end of San Jose’s 2010 campaign, on Sept. 25 in a 3-2 win at Toronto FC and Oct. 20 in a 3-0 win against Chivas USA. Wondolowski’s hat trick was his fourth multi-goal game of the season and ninth of his career.

Wondolowski Approaching MLS Single Season Record for Game-Winning Goals

Wondolowski (2010) and Ruiz (2002) have each recorded nine game-winning goals in a single season. San Jose’s striker has scored the game winner in eight of San Jose’s 12 victories to date. The Earthquakes have 14 games remaining for Wondolowski to try and match the record.

Wondolowski Closing in on Club Scoring Mark

Busch, Earthquakes Defense Record Second Consecutive Shutout
Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch recorded his fifth shutout of the season and second in a row in San Jose’s 5-0 win against Real Salt Lake on Saturday. The back-to-back clean sheet count was San Jose’s second of the season after blanking Toronto FC 3-0 and Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 in consecutive games to close out March. Busch is No. 6 all-time in MLS history with 65 career shutouts during his 12 seasons in the league.

Quakes Among MLS Category Leaders
Through 20 games, the Earthquakes are No. 1 in MLS with 41 goals scored and 44 assists. With 24 scores conceded, the Quakes are also No. 1 in the league with a +17 goal differential.

Race for the Budweiser Golden Boot
