All-Time Wins/Points Records

With 56 points and six games remaining, San Jose is also closing in on the club record for points in a season, set in 2005. The team ended 2005 with 64 points and an 18-4-10 record.

Keeping it Clean
The Earthquakes have picked up headlines for their offensive output this season, but the defense has been just as impressive over the last two weeks. Saturday’s 2-0 win against Chivas USA was Jon Busch’s seventh clean sheet of the season and marked the second time this season the club has recorded shutouts in back-to-back weeks.

Road Warriors
Saturday’s 2-0 win against Chivas USA was the Earthquakes’ seventh road win of the season, second most in club history. San Jose’s Supporters’ Shield run in 2005 featured a benchmark 9-4-3 road clip.

Earthquakes Win Player Lottery for F Marcus Tracy
The Earthquakes won the rights to former Aalborg BK forward Marcus Tracy through a weighted lottery conducted last week at MLS headquarters. San Jose was one of eight teams vying for Tracy’s services and had a 4.6 percent chance of winning the lottery. Tracy won the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, an award given to the most outstanding college player, in 2008 with Wake Forest. He was a Demon Deacon from 2005-08, suiting up alongside current Earthquakes Sam Cronin (2005-08) and Ike Opara (2007-08). Tracy finished his career No. 7 on Wake Forest’s all-time goals scored list with 30 and helped the Deacons to an NCAA title in 2007, scoring a goal and notching the game-winning assist in a 2-1 result over Ohio State. Following his accomplished college career, Tracy decided to take his talents overseas. The 25-year-old forward spent 2009-11 with Aalborg BK before signing with MLS.

Wondolowski Ties MLS Single Season Record for Game-Winning Goals
Chris Wondolowski’s 40th-minute penalty in San Jose’s 2-0 win against Chivas USA on Saturday tied the MLS record for game-winning goals in a single season. The result-decider was his ninth of the season, tying his own mark from 2010 as well as former LA Galaxy forward Carlos Ruiz’s 2002 output. Wondolowski has scored the game winner in nine of San Jose’s 17 wins to date.

Wondolowski Closing in on Club Scoring Mark
Chris Wondolowski is five goals away from matching Ronald Cerritos’ club record for career goals scored. Cerritos scored 61 goals in 148 games over six seasons in San Jose. Meanwhile, Wondolowski has 56 goals in 100 games over five seasons for the Earthquakes.

Wondolowski Surpasses Club Record for Goals in a Single Season
Chris Wondolowski’s 40th-minute penalty in San Jose’s 2-0 win against Chivas USA on Saturday was his 19th goal of the season, breaking a club record previously set by Wondolowski in 2010 when he won the Budweiser Golden Boot. The two-time league leader in goals is aiming to become the first to net 20 in a single season since Landon Donovan hit that exact mark in 2008. Only nine players have scored 20 or more goals in a single season since the league began in 1996.

Century Mark for Wondolowski
In addition to his goal-scoring feats, Chris Wondolowski made his 100th career appearance with the Earthquakes in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Chivas USA. He needs 15 more games played to catch former San Jose midfielder Eddie Lewis for No. 10 on the club’s all-time list.
