Quakes set to face LA Galaxy in Western Conference Semifinal

The Earthquakes are set to face the LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, Nov. 4 in the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinal after the LA Galaxy came from behind to beat Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-1.


The California Clasico will be renewed for a fourth time this season come Sunday at 6 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. The game will be televised by ESPN and ESPN Deportes. The second leg will kick off at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Buck Shaw Stadium and will be televised by ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. Both games will also air live on 1590 KLIV (English).


Wednesday's match is sold out, but fans can still secure a seat by placing a $50 deposit on 2013 season tickets. More information can be found here.


The LA Galaxy rallied from an early 1-0 deficit in the knockout match at The Home Depot Center. Darren Mattocks put Vancouver in front after three minutes when he connected with Matt Watson in the box. Vancouver would take the lead into halftime.


A heroic second half comeback from the LA Galaxy ensued. Mike Magee connected on a Marcelo cross to put the hosts equal in the 69th minute. It would only take four more minutes for the LA Galaxy to score the winner. Landon Donovan converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute to give the LA Galaxy a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish.
