For the second consecutive year, the Earthquakes will travel to Portland to face two MLS teams and Swedish outfit AIK in Portland’s Preseason tournament. The tournament will conclude the Quakes’ preseason schedule after stops in Tucson and Oxnard.


Portland’s preseason tournament will be open to the public and will provide one of the few first glimpses of the 2013 Quakes as they set their sights on the MLS Cup and a second consecutive Supporters’ Shield. Details regarding individual and group tickets for the tournament will be announced at a later date.

Sunday, Feb. 17

Portland vs. San Jose – 5 p.m.


Wednesday, Feb. 20

About AIK (Allmänna Idrottsklubben)
With over a century of history, Allmänna Idrottsklubben, also known as AIK, is considered one of the most successful soccer clubs in Sweden. The winner of 11 league championships, AIK has been a consistent member of Sweden’s first division, called the Allsvenskan, since its inception in 1924. AIK recently won the Allsvenskan title and the Svenska Cupen (Swedish Cup) in 2009. The club won its first Supercupen, a one-match competition contested annually among the country’s top clubs, in 2010. AIK has competed in Europe’s top club tournaments, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, on several occasions. AIK finished the 2012 Allsvenskan season fourth in the table and are currently competing in the 2012-13 Europa League.

JELD-WEN Field, located 13 miles from Portland International Airport (PDX), will host all the matches. With a vibrant downtown renowned for its tranquility, robust art scene, great shopping, and a wide-selection of restaurants, Portland may just be the mid-February vacation needed to explore the City of Roses and to root for your Quakes.
