LA Galaxy Scouting Report
The LA Galaxy (14-11-6, 48 pts.) enter the week fourth in the Western Conference with two matches on tap. Their last time out was a 5-0 rout of Chivas USA at the StubHub Center on Oct. 6. Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan had two goals apiece while rookie Gyasi Zardes accounted for the fifth goal. Keane has been the club’s most consistent offensive threat with 15 goals and 11 assists while Donovan is next on the list with 10 goals and nine assists. The Galaxy host the Montreal Impact on Wednesday, Oct. 16 ahead of the California Clasico.

The Earthquakes closed a stretch of three road games in eight days with a 3-0 loss against the LA Galaxy at the StubHub Center in front of a sold-out crowd of 27,000. San Jose had its chances early, but it was the Galaxy who found the scoreboard first. Robbie Keane chipped a pass over the Earthquakes’ backline, springing Landon Donovan on the run. Donovan carried the ball into the box and beat goalkeeper Jon Busch one-on-one to give the Galaxy a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. Keane tacked on the next two Galaxy goals, the first of which came from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute. The Irishman capped the scoring midway through the second half, volleying home a header from Sean Franklin for his 12th goal of the season.
