No. 4: Second Half Surge: Admit it. Most fans thought that after the 3-0 loss in LA on August 31 that any chance at making a run for the playoffs were done. The players and team had a different idea. Over the course of the last two months, the team was 7-0-2 in all competitions (5-0-2 in MLS play). The team ended up with 51 points – tied for the third best point total in franchise history. In the end, we tied for the fifth playoff spot with Colorado and lost on the goals scored tiebreaker despite winning the head-to-head match-up with the Rapids. It was tough to be on the outside looking in but I was immensely proud of the incredible run over the lasttwo months. Every game was a playoff game and we suffered not a single loss. We carry that momentum into the 2014 campaign.
