No. 1 Steel: The highlight of the year has been seeing our new home take shape with the steel columns and superstructure rising majestically above Coleman Avenue in San Jose. Despite a series of setbacks and struggles at the stadium site, the last three months have seen a transformation of the site. The team building that houses the team locker rooms, player lounge, gym, and front office has been built. The concourses for the main stadium have been poured and the steel has risen above the site. The massive cranes and the activity of the ironworkers is amazing to see. I am happy that we have been able to incorporate our fans into the stadium construction process. Starting with the Guinness World Record groundbreaking and continuing through to Meryl Zuparko pouring the first concrete and Mark Watson signing the team building steel beams, we have looked to incorporate all our stakeholders in the construction. As a community-based team, this has been a fitting tribute to the passion and resolve of one of the best fans bases in professional sports.
