SAN JOSE, Calif. – For the third consecutive season, the San Jose Earthquakes and goalkeeper Jon Busch have teamed up for the Saves for SEALs program. Busch has pledged to donate $50 for every save during the 2014 season to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the San Jose Earthquakes Community Fund has pledged to match that donation.

Fans can also support Busch’s efforts by purchasing the Saves For SEALs ticket package for the California Clasico on June 28 at Stanford Stadium. This package includes four tickets in Section 125 (directly behind the north goal), four custom-camouflage Saves For SEALs T-shirts (designed by Busch) and a post-game meet-and-greet with Busch on the field following the fireworks. The package is $200 with 80-percent of the proceeds benefitting the Navy SEAL Foundation.

“I am honored to be able to give back in a small way to these soldiers and their families,” Busch said. “They sacrifice so much for us on a daily basis and this is my way to say thank you.”

Last season, Busch raised $18,000 for the Navy SEAL Foundation through his pledge, the Saves For SEALs ticket package and an auction of one-of-a-kind gloves and cleats worn at the Stanford game. The amount raised more than doubled the total 2012. Busch’s goal this year is $25,000.

“The money we raise goes to the Navy SEAL Foundation to take care of the families of the fallen,” Busch added.  “The wives, daughters and sons of these soldiers are the ones left behind that we need to take care of.”

This year’s T-shirt will feature the phrase “ALL IN, ALL THE TIME” which pays homage Tommy Valentine, a Navy SEAL who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Busch’s commemorative cleats will also be inscribed with the phrase “ALL IN, ALL THE TIME”. Busch will also wear commemorative Navy SEAL patches on his gloves.

Two pairs of the gloves and two pairs of the cleats will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting the Navy SEAL Foundation.
