Earthquakes 1, New England Revolution 2; March 29, 2014; Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The Earthquakes gave up a last minute goal to the New England Revolution to lose 2-1 at a rain-soaked Buck Shaw Stadium. Chris Wondolowski scored his second goal of the season in the defeat. The loss snapped the Quakes 21-game unbeaten streak at Buck Shaw Stadium in all competitions. The Revolution jumped ahead in the 35th minute through an own goal. After a ball slipped past Quakes goalkeeper Jon Busch, Victor Bernardez recovered to clear the ball, but he slipped and redirected it into the Quakes goal. San Jose came out flying in the second half and found the equalizer as Wondolowski scored for the second straight match at home. After a Cordell Cato cross was deflected, Wondolowski jumped on the loose ball and slammed it past Revolution goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth into the far post. Lee Nguyen grabbed the winner for the Revolution on a counter attack in the final seconds. Nguyen took a pass from Scott Caldwell and broke into the San Jose box, before firing a near-post shot past a diving Busch.

Last Game vs. Columbus Crew

Earthquakes 1, Columbus Crew 1; March 16, 2013; Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio
The Earthquakes pulled off another late comeback to tie the Columbus Crew 1-1 to pick up a valuable road point at Crew Stadium. Justin Morrow played the role of hero with a left-footed blast from just outside the box to level the game in the 73rd minute. Glauber scored the only goal for the Crew. San Jose is now unbeaten in its past six matches against Columbus. After a tight first half, the Quakes came out strong in the second half and created a number of chances. Shea Salinas had a right-footed drive saved by Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum and Chris Wondolowski had a shot cleared off the line by the Crew defense. However, the Crew struck first through a set piece. Federico Higuain swerved in a corner kick to the near post and Glauber powered through a few defenders to head home the game’s opening goal in the 68th minute. The Quakes struck back just five minutes later as Morrow, playing in his home state of Ohio, netted the equalizer. Ramiro Corrales found Morrow with nice pass at the left edge of the box and he smashed a left-footed shot past a diving Gruenebaum just inside the far post.
