The San Jose Earthquakes pushed their unbeaten streak to five games with a 1-1 tie against Orlando City SC at Levi’s® Stadium in front of 36,224 fans. The Quakes goal was an historic one, as forward Chris Wondolowski became the ninth player in Major League Soccer history to reach 100 goals for his career. 
The Quakes hit the road this weekend to face Toronto FC at the newly-renovated BMO Field on Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m. PT. The match will air live on Comcast SportsNet California, 1590 KLIV (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski tallied his 100th career MLS goal to give San Jose a 1-1 draw against Orlando City SC at Levi’s® Stadium. With the draw, the Earthquakes extended their unbeaten streak to five games, tied for the longest active streak in MLS and tied for the longest streak by any Western Conference team this season. In the 51st minute, Orlando City went down when midfielder Brek Shea was sent off with a straight red after mistiming his tackle on Quakes midfielder Sanna Nyassi. Orlando City SC took a 1-0 lead in the 64th minute. After a penalty was called, Orlando City midfielder Kaka converted from the spot to give the away side the advantage. San Jose drew level just four minutes later when defender Jordan Stewart was taken down in the box. Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski stepped up to take it and calmly slotted the penalty into the bottom-left corner of the net, marking his 100th career goal in MLS. He is just the ninth player to ever reach the century mark in league history.

The San Jose Earthquakes lost for the first time in six games at BMO Field, dropping a 1-0 decision to Toronto FC. Jermaine Defoe scored his seventh goal of the year for Toronto FC in the 27th minute, finishing a penalty kick to the right of Quakes goalkeeper Jon Busch. Defoe got Busch to move left and he buried it inside the opposite post for a 1-0 advantage. The Quakes almost had an equalizer through a Steven Lenhart header with 15 minutes to play. Shea Salinas whipped in a cross on a set piece and found Lenhart in the center of the box, but his header was saved by Toronto goalkeeper Joe Bendik. With the game winding down, Quakes rookie midfielder JJ Koval had the team’s best chance of the day with a volley from 10 yards out that just missed the left post. After some sustained pressure from San Jose, the ball was knocked into Koval. He right-footed it but missed the target.
History of the Quakes – Toronto FC Rivalry

Century Man
Earthquakes forward and captain Chris Wondolowski became the ninth player in MLS history to reach 100 goals in his career on Sunday against Orlando City SC. He netted a penalty kick in the 68th minute to tie the match. He now has seven goals for the season and is tied for second in the league. He has scored in four of the last five games. He is now tied for eighth all-time with Edson Buddle at 100 goals and with his next goal he will tie Taylor Twellman for seventh all-time at 101.
Quakes Push Unbeaten Streak to Five
The San Jose Earthquakes are riding a five-game unbeaten streak following their 1-1 tie with Orlando City SC. They have not lost a match since April 17 at New York Red Bulls. The unbeaten run is tied for the longest active streak in the league. The team is 2-0-3 in their last five matches and 3-1-3 in their last seven.
Alashe Joins U-23s
San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Fatai Alashe was among 19 players called to the U.S. Under-23 Men’s National Team by head coach Andi Herzog for the 2015 Toulon Tournament, which runs from May 27-June 7 in the south of France. Alashe, 22, last played for the U.S. Under-23 team on April 22 in a 3-0 win against Mexico at StubHub Center in Carson. He was previously called to the team’s first foreign training camp of the year in Bosnia and Herzegovina from March 23-26, before taking on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s U-21’s on March 27. The last time the U.S. competed in the Toulon Tournament came in 2013 when they sent the U-20 MNT. The tournament comprises two five-team groups. The United States is with Costa Rica, France, Netherlands and Qatar in Group A. Group B consists of China PR, England, Ivory Coast, Mexico and Morocco. The top teams from each group will meet in the final on June 7, and the second-place teams from each group will play for third place that day.
San Jose to Face Manchester United in Berkeley on July 21
The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that their match against Manchester United on July 21 as part of the International Champions Cup North America Presented by Guinness will be played at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley. Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. PT and marks the Earthquakes first-ever match in the venue. A presale for Earthquakes season ticket holders will be held beginning Wednesday, May 27 at 9:00 a.m. PT. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Friday, May 29 at 9:00 a.m. PT through the Cal Athletic Ticket Office. Fans can sign up at www.internationalchampionscup.com for access to the presale. Additionally, fans that are on the Earthquakes season ticket waiting list will also have access to the presale. Season ticket holders will receive an email with a link to the presale. The Quakes will also play Club America on July 14 at Avaya Stadium in the International Champions Cup. The Earthquakes have historically fared well against international competition, holding a 9-8-8 record in all international friendlies since 1996, and are currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak dating back to 2004. In addition to friendlies, the Quakes have played in competitive international tournaments, including the 2014 Copa Euroamericana at Candlestick Park, where San Jose held the defending La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid, to a 0-0 draw through 90 minutes before falling 4-3 in penalty kicks.
Quakes Begin U.S. Open Cup Play June 16
The San Jose Earthquakes will host the winner of Chula Vista-Sacramento Republic FC on Tuesday, June 16 at Avaya Stadium in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT. For the 2015 U.S. Open Cup home games, excluding the U.S. Open Cup Final, the Bonus Game B ticket in the season ticket holder package will serve as an Open Cup Series Ticket. Season Ticket Holders can use the Series Ticket for the Fourth Round, Fifth Round, Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the 2015 U.S. Open Cup. For more information on the Open Cup Series Ticket, season ticket holders should contact their Fan Relations Specialist. Tickets to the general public for the match go on sale on June 3 at 10 a.m. PT and will be available at sjearthquakes.com and at the Earthquakes’ Front Office at 1123 Coleman Ave. San Jose will participate in the U.S. Open Cup for the 12th time in team history in 2015 and hold a 13-11 all-time record in U.S. Open Cup play. The Quakes best finish in the tournament came in 2004 when they advanced to the semifinals before losing to the Kansas City Wizards, 1-0. Ronald Cerritos is the club’s all-time leader in goals in Open Cup competition, totaling four goals and one assist.
Unbeaten at Levi’s® Stadium
Last August, the Earthquakes played in the inaugural game at Levi’s® Stadium, the home of the San Francisco 49ers, and defeated Seattle Sounders FC, 1-0. The Quakes remained unbeaten at the home of the San Francisco 49ers with a 1-1 draw against Orlando City SC.

Kinnear Can Keep a Lead
Teams under head coach Dominic Kinnear are 121-10-43 when scoring first, a .819 winning percentage. As head coach of the Earthquakes, Kinnear has only lost one game when his team scored first, a 25-1-8 record overall.
Halftime Success
Since the beginning of the 2000 season, the Quakes are 107-3-23 when leading at the half, including a 3-0-2 mark so far in 2015. They were 6-0-2 in 2014, 6-0-3 in 2013 and an impressive 12-0-1 in 2012, with the only draw coming against Portland on Oct. 27 at JELD-WEN Field. In 2011, the club was 4-2-2, 7-0-2 in 2010, 4-0-3 in 2009, 6-1-0 in 2008, 7-0-3 in 2005, 7-0-1 in 2004 and 8-0-1 in 2003. Despite holding a 1-0 halftime lead on May 10, 2008, vs. Columbus, the Quakes were edged by the final score of 3-2. That game marked the team’s first loss since 1999 when holding a halftime advantage.
Making the First One Count
The Earthquakes are 105-12-31 since 2001 when scoring the first goal. The club is 3-0-1 so far in 2015, after going 5-1-4 in 2014. They were 11-1-3 when scoring first in 2013. In 2012, San Jose was 14-2-2, their two losses coming at Vancouver (2-1) on May 5 and at Montreal (3-1) on Aug. 18. The club was 7-4-5 in 2011, 12-0-2 in 2010, 6-1-5 in 2009 and 8-1-3 in 2008. Prior to 2010, San Jose also went undefeated in 2001 (13-0-2), 2003 (11-0-1) and 2005 (14-0-5) when scoring first. The Earthquakes were 12-2-0 in 2002 when finding the back of the net first, only giving up leads two times in losing 2-1 at the LA Galaxy on July 4, and falling at Kansas City by the same score on July 27. In 2004, the Quakes went 8-1-1 when scoring first, the best mark in MLS. The Quakes surrendered a 1-0 advantage and dropped a 2-1 decision at the LA Galaxy on July 4, 2004, losing for just the first time since July 27, 2002, when striking first. The Quakes are also impressive in the playoffs when scoring first, posting an 8-0-1 record all-time.
Earthquakes to Host Viewing Parties at Avaya Stadium
The San Jose Earthquakes announced that they will host admission-free viewing parties at Avaya Stadium for fans to watch the team’s next two road matches – Saturday, May 30, against Toronto FC at 2 p.m. PT, and Saturday, June 20, against Seattle Sounders FC, at 1 p.m. PT. Both of the games will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet and gates open one hour prior to kickoff. Fans will be able to watch the matches on the large video board facing Coleman Ave. and will have numerous dining options available for purchase, including two food trucks, a concession stand and the bar. In addition, there will be activities located in the two-acre 7UP Epicenter.
Avaya Stadium to Co-Host 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens
World Rugby announced that the United States has won the bid for the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens. World Rugby accepted a bid put forth by USA Rugby, with the tournament being co-hosted at Avaya Stadium. “Avaya Stadium continues to attract world-class events,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. “We’re extremely proud to be able co-host such a prestigious tournament and to help put the City of San Jose on the world’s stage.”
Avaya Stadium to host World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup
USA Rugby and the San Jose Earthquakes announced that Avaya Stadium will play host to a World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup double-header on Saturday, July 18. The Pacific Nations Cup – a World Rugby tournament designed to expose Pacific Rim teams and players to a greater number of international test matches – features Canada, Fiji, Japan, Samoa, and USA. Avaya Stadium will host two PNC matches July 18, Canada vs. Japan and the USA Men’s Eagles vs. Samoa. Tickets for the matches held at Avaya Stadium will be released mid-March. Notifications on ticket release dates and pre-sale access to tickets for the U.S.-based 2015 PNC matches will be provided to those on the USA Rugby Ticket Pre-Sale List, for which fans can sign up here: www.usarugby.org/tickets.
ACADEMY NOTES
The Earthquakes under-18 and under-16 academy teams enjoyed productive weekends, combining with a 3-0-1 record at Mustang Soccer Complex in Danville.
The U-18s (21-7-3, 66 points) are in sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division of the West Conference after back-to-back shutout wins, 4-0 over the San Diego Surf and 1-0 over Nomads FC. 
The U-16s (15-10-6, 51 points) tied the San Diego Surf 1-1 and blanked the Nomads 2-0, and are in third place.
Both the Quakes' U-16s and U-18s are holding playoff spots with two games left in the regular season. The teams will host the San Juan Soccer Club on Saturday at Mustang Soccer Complex.
