SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes will host their fifth annual A&W Root Beer Float Day on Sunday, Aug. 2, starting at 12:00 p.m. PT in the 7UP Epicenter prior to the club’s match with the Portland Timbers.
Local celebrities, including Earthquakes television and radio broadcasters and Sharks radio voice Dan Rusanowsky, have teamed up with the Earthquakes for the charity event to scoop, pour and serve root beer floats to fans with a recommended $5 donation to their choice of one of three charities – the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or the Earthquakes Community Fund. Each fan that makes the recommended donation will also receive an A&W souvenir cup while supplies last.
Last year, the Earthquakes raised $10,000 for charity as part of the fourth annual A&W Root Beer Float Night.
