FEATURE: Quakes Watch Party, Reno 1868 FC Tryouts Highlights a Busy Weekend in the Biggest Little City in the World

Reno 1868 - San Jose Earthquakes USL Affiliate

The Biggest Little City in the World is set to host a big weekend of soccer!


On Saturday, Sept. 17, Reno 1868 FC, San Jose’s new USL affiliate beginning in 2017, is set to host a watch party for the Quakes upcoming match against the Colorado Rapids with interim general manager Chris Leitch and special guest Eric Wynalda in attendance! The event will be taking place at Arroyo Mexican Grill, adjacent to Greater Nevada Field off Evans Avenue. Reno will be raffling off some cool prizes at the watch party, including a Reno 1868 Fan Pack, 10 extra entires into the San Jose Getaway Contest to watch the Earthquakes take on Real Salt Lake and Reno 1868 FC t-shirts signed by Eric Wynalda.


On Sunday, Sept. 18, Reno will be holding their first-ever tryouts ahead of the club’s inaugural 2017 USL season. Fans can come out to watch the open tryouts from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Moana Springs Recreational Complex. Leitch will be in attendance alongside 1868 FC general manager Andy Smith to watch the 130 prospective players participating in the session.


About the Quakes affiliation with Reno 1868 FC
The Quakes announced on June 29 that the club had signed a two-year USL affiliate partnership with Reno beginning in the 2017 season. The partnership agreement allows the Earthquakes expanded opportunities for player development, talent identification and rehabilitation assignments, while managing the technical direction of Reno 1868 FC.
