SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes will take on Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga at Avaya Stadium on Friday, July 14 at 7:15 p.m. It marks San Jose’s first match against a German club since the team’s first-ever international friendly on May 26, 1996 against Bayer Leverkusen.

Eintracht is currently in third place in the Bundesliga with a 10-5-5 record, trailing only Bayern Munich and Red Bull Leipzig.

Eintracht is based in the city of Frankfurt, Germany and was established in 1899. One of 16 teams selected as founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963, the club has won one German championship (1959), four DFB-Pokals (1973-74, 1974-75, 1980-81, 1987-88) and one UEFA Cup (1980).
San Jose owns a 10-9-8 all-time record in international exhibitions and the club has posted a 7-1-4 record in the past 12 exhibitions against international opponents, including a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad of Spain’s La Liga in 2016.
