NEWS: Earthquakes to Play Sacramento Republic FC on March 22

SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes will take on Sacramento Republic FC on March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Bonney Field in a friendly match. The match will mark the second time the two northern California clubs will face in 2017.
The Earthquakes currently have a 5-0-0 all-time record against Republic FC, having faced them in the U.S. Open Cup in 2014 and 2015 and preseason matches in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The Earthquakes last met Republic FC for a preseason match on Feb. 20, 2016 when Quincy Amarikwa scored twice to earn the Quakes a 2-1 victory.
Earthquakes Homegrown midfielder Tommy Thompson spent time on loan with Sacramento in each of the past three seasons, tallying three goals and four assists in 13 appearances since the start of 2015. Sacramento Republic FC went 14-6-10 in the 2016 season finishing in first place in the USL Western Conference.
The Earthquakes will face Sacramento Republic FC at Avaya Stadium for the first time in 2017 this afternoon at 2 p.m. Following the conclusion of the match, Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli will host a town hall question-and-answer session with season ticket holders followed by a meet-the-team event in the 7UP Epicenter.
