Earthquakes II will head north to face Timbers2 on Friday, July 22. The match will kick off from Providence Park at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Quakes II will be closing a three-match road stretch when they face Portland on Friday. The two clubs have previously faced twice already this season as Earthquakes II will look to sweep the series (W 2-0 on March 30, 2022 at Portland; W 3-0 on May 8, 2022 at San Jose).

Despite the recent defeat on the road against Colorado Rapids 2 last Friday, Quakes II will look at bouncing back and picking up where they left off when playing away and having success.

“I think for us obviously getting results on the road is massive, it’s not easy to go away and come away with points,” Quakes II head coach Dan DeGeer told sjearthquakes.com. “However, I feel the boys feel just as comfortable playing away as they do at home. I’m not seeing a change in their behavior, I’m still seeing them approach the game with confidence and passion playing the game the way we always do.”

With a little over two months of matches remaining and MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs still in reach, DeGeer spoke on the team’s approach to this opportunity and preparation for the rest of the season.

“For us, it's continuing to be who we are and focus on ourselves more so than the opponent. The players are becoming more and more familiar, more comfortable with our way of playing. More comfortable in the new league, and they are definitely building confidence with each week when they are getting the results. We are in a good moment right now, let’s just focus on one game at a time and focus on what we need to do as a group and as individuals.”

Timbers2 holds an 1-12-2 record this season (7 pts.), occupying eleventh in the Western Conference. The Oregon side is in search of their first win and their second win at home at Providence Park.

Quakes II players Eduardo Blancas and Rodolfo Castro Jr. both lead the team in goals (5), while Max Arsften leads the club in assists (4).
