MATCH RECAP: Earthquakes II 1 (4), St. Louis CITY2 1 (2)

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Earthquakes II drew St. Louis CITY2 1-1 in regulation and won 4-2 in a penalty shootout on Sunday night at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif. Quakes II opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Oscar Verhoeven served Ousseni Bouda a pinpoint pass behind the CITY2 defensive line. CITY2 found the equalizer in the 64th minute to send the match into a penalty shootout. Earthquakes II won the shootout 4-2 to earn two points at home with two critical saves from Eric De La Cerda and a winning penalty from Cruz Medina.

Earthquakes II will now prepare to face MNUFC2 on the road on Saturday, July 29. The match will kick off from National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota at 5 p.m. PT and will be streamed globally on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
