SAN JOSE, Calif. – Earthquakes II drew MNUFC2 2-2 in regulation and fell 9-8 in a penalty shootout on Sunday night at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif. Quakes II opened the scoring in the fifth minute after Roberto Hategan fired home a shot from beyond the 18-yard box. Eduardo Blancas doubled Quakes II’s lead in the eighth minute off a square pass from Jose David Serrano. MNUFC2 sent the game into penalties after scoring goals in the 42nd and 71st minutes.

Earthquakes II will now prepare to face the Tacoma Defiance on the road on Sunday, September 10. The match will kick off from Starfire Sports Stadium in Tukwila, Wash. at 7 p.m. PT and will be streamed globally on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
