BURNABY, B.C. – Earthquakes II defeated Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 3-2 on Friday night at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, British Columbia. The win sees Quakes II earn their third consecutive victory. Rudi Castro, who scored two goals for Quakes II tonight, now leads the team in goals with five.

Quakes II opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Rudy Castro and held onto the lead in the first half. Whitecaps FC 2 tied the game in the 49th minute with a goal by Simon Becher before Quakes II retook the lead six minutes later for Rudy Castro’s second goal of the night. The Canadian side quickly found the 2-2 equalizer in the 58th minute, but Will Richmond scored the game-winning goal in the 71st minute for Quakes II.

Earthquakes II will now return to San Jose to host Houston Dynamo 2 on Friday, July 1. Kickoff from PayPal Park is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on MLSNEXTPro.com.
