The San Jose Earthquakes will celebrate the start of the 2020 MLS regular season with MLS is Back Week leading up to the Home Opener on Saturday, Feb. 29 against Toronto FC at 2:15 p.m. The week will include many fun fan-interactive activities, opportunities to win tickets, and much more.

Quake It Up Day

San Jose

Members of the club's front office will take to the streets to promote the Quakes Home Opener by bringing swag and game-related items to local businesses around San Jose.

Saturday, Feb. 22

Service Saturday

Our City Forest Community Nursery, San Jose

9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Quakes Foundation and Our City Forest are joining forces for the first Service Saturday of 2020 at Our Forest Community Nursery in San Jose. Service Saturday's are a program to connect Quakes fans with local volunteer and service opportunities, and all volunteers wearing Quakes gear will win a special prize. Fans interested in volunteering can sign up via email at



Earthquakes Stadium

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Earthquakes Stadium will host a Select-A-Seat event, where fans can enjoy the unique experience of handpicking their seats for the 2020 MLS Season. Fans that purchase new Quakes Season Tickets that day will be invited to an exclusive season ticket holder player panel featuring several quakes players including Tommy Thompson. Additional benefits will include 20% off Quakes merchandise and free jersey customization that day. To attend, fans can RSVP here.

Monday, Feb. 24

Flag Raising

City Hall

5:30 p.m.

Earthquakes Chief Operating Officer Jared Shawlee will visit Downtown San Jose, where he will be speaking prior to the San Jose flag raising ceremony at City Hall. This event is free and open to the public. The event will follow with a happy hour after the ceremony at 4th Street Pizza starting at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

City Proclamation

City Hall

1:30 p.m.

The Quakes will be present at San Jose’s City Council Meeting for the proclamation of National Play Outside Day on March 7. The Quakes are ecstatic to proclaim a special day that highlights the importance of health and improving quality of life for children and adults in the City.


Quakes Happy Hour

Meso, Santana Row

4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

The San Jose Earthquakes will host a happy hour at Meso in Santana Row, with Quakes midfielder Shea Salinas and goalkeeper Matt Bersano present. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Quakes Foundation for community initiatives, youth programming, and more.


Fly It Fridays

11 a.m.

Throughout the 2020 season, Quakes staff will roam each home game's Neighborhood Night throughout the week, looking for homes and businesses displaying Quakes flags for a chance to win awesome prizes, including Quakes Home Game Tickets. Winners will be announced on the Friday of each home game week.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

VHP Free Play Day

East Valley YMCA 

4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

The Quakes and Valley Health Plan are co-hosting a Free Play Day at East Valley YMCA. Kids ages 6-12 are invited to come out and play in no-pressure, non-coached scrimmages. Participants will be treated to an autograph session with Quakes midfielder Tommy Thompson and parents are welcome to stay and join in the conversation on youth health and wellness. Corn Hole Tournament

Hapa's Brewing Company, San Jose 

6 p.m.

The Quakes will be teaming up with Hapa’s Brewing Company in San Jose for the Silicon Valley Corn Hole Association Tournament. Only the first 10 fans to arrive will be selected to compete in the tournament. Fans that RSVP will be eligible to win several prizes, including a 2020 jersey. Hapa’s will be selling $5 beers to fans in Quakes gear. Fans interested in attending can RSVP here.

Thursday, Feb. 27

Autograph Session

Earthquakes Stadium

5 p.m.

Earthquakes recent signing Oswaldo Alanis will be present for a player meet and greet at the Quakes Team Store, located next to the main gate of Earthquakes Stadium. This event will be free and open to the public.


Wondo drops the puck

SAP Center, San Jose

7:30 p.m.

Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski will drop the ceremonial first puck prior to the Sharks vs. New Jersey Devils game at SAP Center.

Friday, Feb. 28

San Pedro Pop-Up Lunch

San Pedro Square, San Jose

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Quakes will feature a lunch fest at San Pedro Square, where fans will be able to enjoy from activations such as live juggling and purchase 10% off all Quakes merchandise from the Quakes trailer at the event. Brand Ambassadors will be around with special giveaways for fans present.


Scavenger Hunt

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

To close the week, the Quakes will launch a scavenger hunt around five random locations in San Jose, where fans will be able to win prizes, including Matias Almeyda Bobbleheads and away jerseys. Winners’ pictures will be featured on the Quakes Instagram Account.

The Earthquakes host Toronto FC at Earthquakes Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 2:15 p.m. The Earthquakes have won four of their five home openers since the stadium was opened in 2015. Tickets are available for purchase here.
