Wondo-strike wins AT&T Goal of the Week

Chris Wondolowski scored his third goal in as many games Saturday night.

Talk about a Wondo-goal. San Jose Earthquakes striker Chris Wondolowski won the AT&T Goal of the Week honors for Week 6 by a mile.

The Bay Area native's top-shelf one-timer against Colorado last Saturday earned half of the entire fan vote. Seattle Sounders winger Steve Zakuani came in a distant second with 17 percent of the tallies. A.J. DeLaGarza, Andy Williams and Baggio Husidic came in far behind.

Wondolowski took a deft flick from Ryan Johnson in the 33rd minute and buried an 18-yard, left-footed rocket past Rapids keeper Matt Pickens that ricocheted in off the crossbar. The strike was Wondolowski's third in as many games for the Quakes, who rode that goal to their third win of the season.
