San Jose will complete its FieldTurf road trip with a flight to the Pacific Northwest to take on Seattle Sounders FC at noon on Saturday on Fox Soccer Channel.
After holding the New England Revolution to a 0-0 draw on a sticky pitch at Gillette Stadium, the Quakes will try to extend their unbeaten streak to four-in-a-row when they play the Sounders. Saturday's tie moved the Quakes into a four-way logjam for second in the Western Conference alongside the Houston Dynamo, the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake. San Jose is 2-0-1 in May, including wins over Colorado (1-0) and New York (4-0). The Quakes have recorded three consecutive shutouts and have notched four clean sheets this season.
Seattle Sounders FC are coming off a 1-0 win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Fredy Montero came off the bench to score the go-ahead goal in the 85th minute to hand New York its first loss at Red Bull Arena. Seattle has struggled in 2010, losing its last match at Qwest Field 4-0 to the Los Angeles Galaxy. Seattle is one-point back of the second-place party with its win at New York.

San Jose extended New England's winless streak to six matches by collecting a 0-0 draw at Gillette Stadium. New England midfielder Joseph Niouky came closest to breaking the deadlock when he smashed a drive from distance off the post after 61 minutes. Despite Niouky's blast, San Jose enjoyed the better of the chances, particularly in the second half. Preston Burpo made three fine saves to keep the Revolution's first clean sheet since April 3. San Jose's best opportunity arrived after just eight minutes. In-form winger Bobby Convey sliced open the Revolution defense with a long through ball for Chris Wondolowski. The Earthquakes forward played a square ball to Ryan Johnson at the far post, but the Jamaican striker couldn't get much behind the shot and Burpo made the kick save. Burpo stopped Johnson twice and made the save of the match in the 68th minute. The Revs goalkeeper once again bailed out his teammates by blocking a shot by Quakes defender Bobby Burling in a one-on-one situation. San Jose midfielder Andre Luiz flicked a Revolution clearance back over the defensive line. Burling beat the trap, but Burpo stood strong to deflect the defender's effort. Neither side could create the type of chances in the late stages to secure all three points as the Earthquakes couldn't find their way through in the dying stages.

The Quakes earned a 4-0 win over a 10-man Sounders side, with goals coming from four different scorers. An Osvaldo Alonso own-goal opened the scoring with the game less than two minutes old. With Sounders FC reduced to 10 men after James Riley's 33rd-minute ejection, San Jose put the game away with goals from Cornell Glen, Darren Huckerby and substitute Chris Wondolowski. The match also marked the first clean sheet of the year for goalkeeper Joe Cannon. Kasey Keller had no chance to prevent the Quakes from breaking on top in the early going. Cornell Glen released Ryan Johnson down the left wing, and the Jamaican's cross was touched by Alonso into his own net to give San Jose a 1-0 lead. The match boiled over in the 33rd minute when former Quakes defender James Riley was shown a straight red card for a studs-up challenge on Bobby Convey. The Quakes doubled their advantage in the 54th minute. Ramon Sanchez won a 50-50 ball in midfield to Shea Salinas, whose centering feed found Glen at the top of the box. Glen created space for himself, and his low shot made its way past Keller for his third goal in as many starts. Darren Huckerby then put the game beyond doubt in the 78th minute. The Englishman was put through by Sanchez, and while his first shot was deflected, Keller was unable to claim the rebound, allowing Huckerby the easiest of finishes. Chris Wondolowski then capped off the afternoon in the 84th minute, scoring from eight yards after great work from Salinas.

Cannon Posts Fourth Shutout of the Season
Earthquakes goalkeeper Joe Cannon posted his fourth shutout of the season on Saturday in San Jose’s 0-0 draw against the New England Revolution. Cannon now has 72 career shutouts and is alone in second in MLS for shutouts this season.
Quakes Defense Among the Best in MLS
The Quakes defense kept New England scoreless in their 0-0 draw on Saturday in Foxboro. San Jose now has four shutouts this season, and has only conceded four goals in their past six games, four of which have been wins. The Quakes have not allowed a goal at home since the 54th minute of their home opener versus Real Salt Lake on April 17, and since the 87th minute at Chivas USA on April 24 on the road. The Quakes have not lost or allowed a goal since Bobby Burling joined the lineup against the Colorado Rapids on May 1. Not only has Burling been solid on defense, but he also notched his first career goal on May 8 versus New York in a 4-0 win.
Quakes Continue to Earn Results at Gillette Stadium
After earning a scoreless draw on Saturday against New England, the Quakes have now lost just twice at Gillette Stadium, home of the Revolution, posting a 5-2-2 record there since 2002.
Alvarez Set to Make 150th Appearance
Quakes midfielder/forward Arturo Alvarez will make his 150th career appearance in MLS if he plays on Saturday, May 22 against the Seattle Sounders FC. He has started 92 games, has scored 22 goals and notched 17 assists in his eight-year career.

He also holds the team's all-time record for saves in a game with 12 on July 8, 2000 at Colorado.

Quakes Host Club Partner Tottenham Hotspur July 17
The San Jose Earthquakes will play club partner Tottenham Hotspur from the English Premier League (EPL) on Saturday, July 17 at Buck Shaw Stadium. The kick-off time will be announced at a later date. Season ticket holders should use their Bonus Game “B” ticket for the match. Tottenham Hotspur, also known as Spurs, signed a club partnership agreement in 2008 with the objective of creating a long-term bond between the two clubs. The relationship focuses on both soccer and commercial development by exchanging and implementing the best practices from both organizations. The partnership to date has seen Earthquakes technical staff visiting Spurs Lodge on numerous occasions, with the team using the Tottenham Hotspur training facility as a base for this season’s pre-season preparations.

The San Jose Earthquakes announced that individual tickets for all 2010 Earthquakes home games are now on sale. The Quakes significantly reduced prices for the 2010 season with prices ranging from $20-50.
