The San Jose Earthquakes and Odwalla are proud to announce Michael Torres of Almaden Valley YSL as the Player of the Month for July. Torres has played in Almaden Valley YSL since joining an Under-6 recreational team. He has played on recreational, academy and competitive teams, both as a field player and a goalkeeper.
Two years ago, Torres made his first cmopetitive team, Almaden United FC. The Almaden United FC Green Division 1 team invited Torres to play as goalkeeper at the Diablo FC Summer Classic on July 24-25, a major accomplishment for the blossoming net-minder.
Torres has shown his passion on the pitch at many junctures, including a San Jose Earthquakes Youth Development School week of training in addition to his team daily regimen.
