Joe Cannon might be shelved for 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle, but his legacy lives on in MLS Save of the Week voting.
Cannon stuffed Teal Bunbury on three different occasions in a 1-0 win over the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, but it was his 56th-minute charge from the goal line that warranted this week's nomination. Cannon keyed San Jose's first home win in three months while recording seven saves and a clean sheet in his first start since June 5.
Unfortunately, Tuesday's training session was a nightmare. Cannon's cleat stuck in the ground while trying to make a save, resulting in a broken ankle.
