San Jose Academy player Travis Pillon will join the US U-17 Residency program in Bradenton, Florida.

Pillon, a 16-year-old from Oakland, Calif., was invited to join the US program last week. The lanky right back has been a key component for San Jose's Youth Academy. He showed well for the Quakes at the SUM Cup and in cross-conference matches in San Diego.

"Travis has been playing great for us and he deserves this opportunity. He held his own while training with the Quakes First Team and has represented us well for the Academy," said Quakes Academy Director of Administration and Travel Fred Wilson.
