Darren Huckerby visits the Earthquakes in Leicester

Former Earthquakes winger and Buck Shaw Stadium fan favorite Darren Huckerby dropped by San Jose's friendly against Leicester City on Thursday.

Huckerby made 28 appearances and scored nine goals for the Quakes after joining the squad midseason in 2008. Injury forced early retirement for the speedy playmaker, but he still keeps in touch with the Earthquakes from his current residence in England.

During San Jose's expansion season, Huckerby made all the difference during a hot streak to close the campaign. The 2008 MLS Newcomer of the Year recipient scored two goals in a win against the Los Angeles Galaxy in August and had a game winner versus the Kansas City Wizards three weeks later. Huckerby tallied three times and had three assists during that stretch, which saw the Quakes unbeaten in seven games.
