4v4 Tourney draws thousands to E. Palo Alto

4v4 Tournament in E. Palo Alto presented by Wells Fargo 2

The second Earthquakes 4v4 Tournament, presented by Wells Fargo, of the summer drew over 550 competitors and 1,000 fans to the soccer fields at Cesar Chavez Academy in East Palo Alto on Sunday.


Earthquakes defender and San Jose native Steven Beitashour was on hand to sign autographs and pose for photographs with participants and fans. In all, 73 teams competed in 12 different divisions.

Prizes were awarded to the first and second place teams in all divisions. All participants received an Earthquakes ticket, event t-shirt, and sponsor gifts.


Only one additional 4v4 Tournament remains this summer. The last event is on Sept. 18 at Alden Oliver Sports Park in Hayward. The divisions for each tournament include Boys and Girls U-8 through U-19, Men’s and Women’s Rec, Adult Coed, and Men’s Open.
