The San Jose Earthquakes host their season finale on Saturday, Oct. 22 against FC Dallas at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., presented by Xfinity. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will air live on Comcast SportsNet California, 1220 KDOW and 1370 KZSF. Five thousand fans will receive a commemorative Troy Dayak Hall of Fame pin with Dayak set to be inducted to the club’s Hall of Fame during halftime on Saturday.

Chris Wondolowski scored his MLS-leading 15th goal of the season in a 2-1 San Jose Earthquakes loss against Seattle Sounders FC in front of 64,140 fans at CenturyLink Field. San Jose’s striker finished a one-on-one in the box against Sounders FC goalkeeper Kasey Keller after taking a well timed through ball by Rafael Baca in the 24th minute. The goal tied Wondolowski with D.C. United’s Dwayne De Rosario atop the Budweiser Golden Boot standings. Wondolowski has scored San Jose’s last five goals dating back to a 1-1 draw against the Colorado Rapids on Sept. 24 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Quakes held court against Seattle until the final minutes. Sammy Ochoa equalized for Sounders FC in the 82nd minute and Fredy Montero scored the game winner in the 87th.

Chris Wondolowski tallied twice in the first half to lead the San Jose Earthquakes to a 2-0 road win against defending Western Conference Champion FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park. The 2010 MLS Budweiser Golden Boot winner has scored San Jose’s last 12 regular season goals, extending his MLS record dating back to Sept. 15, 2010. Wondolowski also moved into sole possession of fifth place on the Earthquakes all-time leading goals list with 22, surpassing former US international Eric Wynalda. Chris Leitch helped create Wondolowski’s first goal, chipping a pass over the FC Dallas backline. Wondolowski chest-trapped the ball with his back to the goal then unleashed a ferocious left-footed strike that beat goalkeeper Kevin Hartman to the far corner for a 1-0 San Jose lead in the 5th minute. The build up to Wondolowski’s second goal also started with Leitch, this time in the 23rd minute. San Jose’s right back lofted a pass to the far side of the field that Joey Gjertsen collected before whipping a cross to the near post. Wondolowski was there to nod the pass toward the opposite corner and in for his fourth career multi-goal game. Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch stopped three point-blank chances by Milton Rodriguez in the second half to help preserve the shutout.


History of the Quakes – FC Dallas Rivalry
The Earthquakes were 9-1-4 in the final 14 games against Dallas prior to San Jose’s relocation to Houston … The Quakes posted a seven-game winning streak during that stretch from July 20, 2002-Apr. 15, 2004 … San Jose and Dallas met in an important match on Oct. 16, 2004, as San Jose needed a win or a tie to advance to the playoffs, while Dallas needed a win to clinch the final berth in the playoffs. The two teams played to a 2-2 tie at the Cotton Bowl, giving San Jose a spot in the playoffs, while Dallas did not qualify. Ramiro Corrales scored the Quakes second goal in that game … On Sept. 27, 2003, San Jose’s Dwayne De Rosario scored the fastest goal from the start of the game in MLS history, netting a goal 11 seconds into the match at Spartan Stadium against Dallas. De Rosario would go on to net a hat trick in the game, the second hat trick in Quakes team history … The Quakes +20 goal differential against Dallas is the highest against any team in the league … The Earthquakes were 0-1-1 against FC Dallas last season … The Earthquakes defeated FC Dallas in a 2-0 road win in the first meeting of this season on Mar. 26.
