Wondo, Gray join Movember movement

Movember Wondolowski

Are you looking for a great excuse to grow a mustache? Well now you have one! Join San Jose Earthquakes Forward Chris Wondolowski and Ambassador Kelly Grey as they grow mustaches in support of ‘Movember’ – a month dedicated to raising awareness and funds for men’s health issues – specifically cancers that effect men.

Here’s how you can support the Earthquakes and Movember:

1. Go to the website - http://us.movember.com/ and click “Register”
2. When you are on the registration page click the button “Team Member (Join a Team)”
3. Fill out all your information, then click – Register & join a team
4. When it prompts you for “Team Name or Captain’s name” – Type “San Jose Earthquakes Supporters”. The team should pop up and you can join it.

Following your sign-up, on Movember 1, Mo Bros (the men who support Movember) start clean-shaven, then grow and groom their moustache all month long. Mo Sistas, women who love and support the Mo Bros, also play an important role in Movember. Mo Sistas are encouraged to register on Movember.com, create or join a team, host a Mo Party, and show support for the men in their life and their participation in Movember. At the end of Movember, celebrate your journey with the Movember community at an official Gala Parté or host your own Mo Party - Movember will send you a Movember Party in a Box kit with everything you need.

Just want to donate to Wondo’s wicked ‘stache or Kelly Grey’s masculine mo? Click here to donate to Wondolowski’s mustache and click here to donate to Grey’s moustache. All proceeds benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

The importance of participating in this event will go a long way in helping cancer researchers find a cure for prostate cancer and other similar diseases. Facts highlight that one in every two men will be diagnosed with some type of cancer in their lifetime while one man dies from prostate cancer every 15.6 minutes, resulting in 33,000 male deaths per year. One new case of prostate cancer is diagnosed every 2.2 minutes, a similar rate to breast cancer in women.

Get ready to hide your razors for the month, Earthquakes fans, and eat with confidence, even with that small piece of food stuck in your ‘stache. It’s time to get hairy!
