Earthquakes unveil 2012 jerseys

2012 Home Jersey DL

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes unveiled the club’s new jerseys, training gear and other official team attire for the upcoming 2012 campaign on Monday. The updated merchandise is available for purchase at the team’s headquarters at 451 El Camino Real, Suite 220 in Santa Clara, Calif. or by visiting the club’s online store at earthquakes.yorder.it.

Once again, the colors of the Earthquakes’ three jersey options will be black, blue and white. However, the club will change up the order of preference for its kits with blue becoming the secondary option while white will be the third alternative. Black will remain San Jose’s primary color.

The club will also connect to soccer’s roots in the Silicon Valley by stitching “EST. 1974” on the backs underneath the collar, a reference to the earliest incarnation of the San Jose Earthquakes when George Best and company competed in the North American Soccer League from 1974-84. In the past year, San Jose has continued to embrace its past by dedicating a gate at Buck Shaw Stadium to Best and the “Greatest Goal Ever” as well as by offering Season Ticket Holders who renewed their tickets by Oct. 22 a throwback NASL Quakes jersey.

The Earthquakes will debut their new kits during MLS First Kick on Saturday, March 10, as they play host to the New England Revolution. Kick-off inside Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara is set for 7:30 p.m.
