The night will feature a number giveaway items as the Quakes partner with MLS W.O.R.K.S., the charitable arm of Major League Soccer. The first 5,000 fans will receive an eco-tip guide courtesy of the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and flower seed packets will be distributed to the first 1,000 fans, courtesy of the America the Beautiful Fund. Also, select fans will receive a Chinook Book, a book featuring discount offers at local, sustainable and healthy businesses.

Fans can also take home a buy-one-get-one ticket voucher courtesy of Odwalla by recycling their Odwalla bottle at the game on April 21. Fans who bring their empty Odwalla bottles to the Earthquakes Box Office or headquarters before kickoff on April 21 will receive the BOGO offer.

Additionally, the Earthquakes have teamed up with MLS W.O.R.K.S. to offset the carbon footprint for energy used at the stadium that night. The Renewable Energy Certificates—from 100 percent wind resources—purchased from Portland, Ore.-based Bonneville Environmental Foundation, will counterbalance 100 percent of the electricity used at Buck Shaw Stadium during the day of the game. The carbon dioxide reduction value is the equivalent of more than 6,989 pounds.

Fans who drive a Hybrid car to the game will receive $5 off parking, while patrons who take VTA or Caltrain to the match will receive a $5 discount for a game ticket by showing their VTA or Caltrain receipt.

The Epicenter will also feature some green, sustainable businesses, along with a presentation from the Solar Decathlon Team from Santa Clara University in the Epicenter. The Solar Decathlon is a competition among universities that determines the best designer and builder of a net-zero energy house. Santa Clara finished third in 2007 and 2009 in the competition and was recently selected for the 2013 competition.

In addition to the game day activities, the Earthquakes will celebrate Earth Day in the week leading up to the match with a tree planting day with Our City Forest. A Quakes player and staff, along with the Shakers Squad, will participate in a tree planting on Wednesday, April 18 at McCollam Elementary School at 9 a.m. PT.

The Earthquakes will also participate in a leaguewide contest dubbed, "How Green are your Goals?:" The contest promotes awareness by asking fans to write down their "Greener Goals" in order to enter. Each entrant selects their favorite MLS team and the team with the highest number of entrants will receive a solar panel installation for Earth Day 2013. Fans can also win a trip to the 2012 MLS All-Star Game in Philadelphia by entering.
