The San Jose Earthquakes will donate $1,000 to Operation Care & Comfort as part of a promotion to benefit the organization. The drive called for fans to like the club’s team Facebook page, offering $1 on behalf of all new likes from noon on Saturday to the end of the post-game fireworks show. Operation Care & Comfort is a group that helps members of the U.S. Armed Forces by sending care packages and other donations to deployed service members or Veteran’s families.

Wells Fargo has again pledged to donate $250 for each goal the Earthquakes score in 2012 through the Goals for Education program. With 35 goals through 17 games, the donated total for this season already stands at $8,750.
